Shhh, I’ll tell you a little secret. My husband admitted (in front of his friend, no less) that he likes my chocolate chip cookies more than his mom’s.
SCORE! After years of living in this woman’s culinary shadows, I have FINALLY perfected upon perfection and made something better than her! Nana nana nanaaaa!
Ahem. Tonight we decorated our Christmas tree and while we did so, I baked my BetterThanHisMom’s cookies. I swatted my hubby’s hand and his friend’s hand as they dipped their fingers in my dough and then listened to their moans of enjoyment. Secretly, I loved it. It’s not often I emerge from my In-laws shadows and win a battle. (Notice I didn’t say the war!) So in honor of this victory…oh yeah, and of course, Christmas!... I will offer you the recipe for my now-famous chocolate chip cookies:
BetterThanHisMom’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups white sugar
1 tbsp molasses
1 stick of butter
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp of sea salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups flour
1 package of milk chocolate chip cookies
Mix all ingredients together except the flour and chips. Once complete, add flour one cup at a time. Once dough easily pulls away from the sides (you might have to add a little more flour), add chips. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375.
I’ll also be sending someone a Christmas ornament for their tree, and maybe, if you made the good list, some cookies for Santa! Leave your email address with your comment so I can contact you when you win!
